Nano-composites are used for improving the properties of bitumen. For example, adding nano clay to bitumen trebles the useful life of asphalt. Clay and its Nano powder have different properties and increase the lifespan of asphalt. Producing stable bitumen by nanotechnology is the other way of improving properties. Polymer modified bitumen is being used for paving highways and building tarmacs.
Polymer modified bitumen could be used in different climate conditions and traffic load because of its unique properties.
